YVES LOUNGE SOFA

Exploring the union of form and function, the Yves Lounge Sofa brings the playful, flowing shapes of its modular sister piece to a new form. With a reduced seat depth, the Yves Longue sofa offers the same sartorial elegance to smaller residential or hospitality settings.

Yves Lounge Sofa

Harnessing organic shapes and varying rational values, the Yves Lounge Sofa brings a softness to any space. Careful use of negative space breaks the outline, inviting us in and providing opportunity to change the tone through partnering with sympathetic pieces.

Distinctly the work of designer Hannes Peer, the Yves Lounge Sofa embodies his eclecticism, at once formal and relaxed. Though openly inspired by the 1970s heyday of Italian furniture design, it remains modern and eminently liveable.

Compact, unconstrained

Like its sister piece, the Yves Seating System, the Lounge Sofa brings many seemingly contradictory dualities together seamlessly. At once sinuous and rigorous, flowing yet solid, the distinct curved profile marries style and comfort.

The upholstered one-piece seating, with the distinctive recessed space, exchanges the modularity of its sister with a reassuring solidity. Concurrently, the recessed negative space brings the fluid organic lines and playful invitation to partner with other pieces.

Above all, the Yves Lounge Sofa’s lines invite us in. Its more compact seat depth is no barrier to its innate warmth.

Duality Designed For Life

Noted for his eclecticism, Hannes Peer’s work is also noted for its careful consideration of how we live. Each project, while certainly aesthetically stunning, is emphatically practical and the Yves Lounge Sofa is no exception. Indeed, it is a paragon of this union between style and function.

With a deep seated appreciation for craftsmanship, Peer brings his training as a carpenter and architect’s eye to this partnership with the Minotti Studio. This, partnered with his careful consideration of the life-well-lived, is embodied in the Yves Lounge Sofa.

At once solid and architectural yet yielding and flowing, this piece finds a home in any residential or hospitality setting. While the reassuring rigour brought by the one-piece nature of the piece offers grounding, the smooth flow invites openness. These dualities, far from being cacophonous, mirror the flows of the lives lived around them.

While distinctive and undeniably bold, this sofa enhances rather than overwhelms its surroundings, finding a comfortable home in diverse spaces.

Inviting Curves

Perhaps the most striking element is the organic curvature which turns the sitter slightly towards their fellows, inviting conversation and exchange. When partnered with a suitable small, rounded table, this effect is further enhanced, providing a focal point for any space.

Through careful balance of seemingly disparate dialects of the design language, this partnership between Peers and the Minotti Studio brings more than its smaller form-factor may initially suggest.
