The Minotti Ruffle sofa, designed by GamFratesi, is a welcoming seat with generous proportions, where gentle volumes and formal precision sit in balance. The wide, one-piece seat offers effortless comfort, while a slightly sloping trapezoidal backrest adds a subtle dynamism and supports the body with ease.
Ruffle has an informal feel: a modular system made to suit contemporary living with originality. Its relaxed softness invites both rest and conviviality.
Its identity comes from a pattern of paired bands, padded like soft cushions, that wrap around the structure to create the effect of a continuous quilt. Precisely cut and stitched, they follow the outline with fluidity.
Craftsmanship becomes a graphic feature: longitudinal stitches run evenly across the backrest and seat, defining orderly vertical bands that give the upholstery character.
The perimeter profile traces the silhouette, while 45-degree corner joints show a careful artisanal approach. The back keeps the same harmony, so the piece can sit at the centre of a room with equal presence.
In the offset version, the backrest extends sideways to hold open wood compartments with softly rounded corners and removable sculpted padded tops, or rectangular and square side tables. These shape a fluid layout, pairing linear modules with enveloping curves. Resting on polished brushed metal feet, Ruffle has an elegant solidity and a strong horizontal presence.
