HELENE COFFEE TABLE

Coming in two distinctively sculptural shapes, the Helene Coffee Table brings a decorative and scenic appeal to any space. Created by interlocking the cubic or cylindrical base, hewn in stainless steel, with the lacquered-edged wooden top, the result is simple yet sophisticated.

Helene Coffee Table

A product of the nascent partnership between Minotti and designer and architect Hannes Peer, the table takes influences from both. Here, in the marriage of designer and maker, lies the real secret to the Helene Coffee table.

From Peer, the Helene takes its fundamental functionality. Both elegant and understated, the interplay of simple lacquered wood and shining stainless steel is both elegant and understated. Further, Peer’s passion for and understanding of the rhythms of real life imbue the piece with practicality.

From the Minotti Studio comes the technical mastery of manufacture which underpins Hannes Peer’s deceptively stripped-back design. With characteristic Italian craftsmanship, Peer’s vision is brought to life.

Elegant Simplicity

From the expansive plane of the table top to the inset storage tray formed by the top of the base at the point of union, the Helene is elegantly austere. While certainly sculptural, the table does not mask its fundamental nature as a practical furnishing piece, favouring unostentatious elegance.

The dark stained wood is subtly framed by the glossy lacquer, tying the piece together with the reflective nature of the stainless steel base. The combination of bold, simple shapes and colours loan a distinctly decorative quality while retaining the essential simplicity.

The base, whether rounded or cuboid, brings a touch of modernity to an otherwise classical design. This duality allows the Helene Coffee table, of either configuration, to find a comfortable home in many spaces.

Designed for Life

The stripped-back aesthetic allows the easy partnering of the Helene coffee table with a wide variety of companion pieces. Partnered with deeply indulgent armchairs, or nestled into the recess of a modular sofa, clean lines enhance without overpowering.

This deceptive simplicity means that whatever the atmosphere of the space, the Helene finds an easy home. In more Spartan surroundings, it provides a focal point, in more ostentatious, it serves as a grounding influence.

Duality

The contrasting materials embody the duality of the piece. Both sophisticated and simple, the wooden top, paired with the stainless steel base sit sympathetically interlocked with each other, offering both aesthetic and structural contrast.

The base is far from a simple architectural feature but instead serves a dual purpose. Here, nestled in the heart of the tables’ plane-like top is a recessed storage tray. Perfectly sized to hold a decanter and glasses or any of the ephemera of a convivial evening, it is equally at home in residential and hospitality spaces.
